Drawing from his New York Times bestselling book A World on the Wing, Weidensaul examines the science and complexity of bird migration, offering insight into how birds navigate vast distances and what their movements reveal about a rapidly changing environment.
Weidensaul is the author of nearly 30 books on natural history, including the Pulitzer Prize finalist Living on the Wind. His forthcoming book, Return of the Oystercatcher: Saving Birds to Save the Planet (April 2026), highlights successful bird conservation efforts worldwide.
In addition to his writing, he is a contributing editor for Audubon magazine, a columnist for Bird Watcher’s Digest, and a Fellow of the American Ornithological Society. His field research includes long-term studies of saw-whet owl migration, winter hummingbirds in the eastern United States, bird migration in Alaska, and snowy owl movements through Project SNOWstorm, which he co-founded.
A book signing will follow the lecture.
