Public Speaking Contest - Final Round

All are welcome to attend the final round of the Annual Public Speaking Contest! You'll hear the best of best deliver compelling speeches on a range of topics to compete for four monetary prizes.

The Public Speaking Contest is a chance for students to show off their speaking skills and what they’ve been learning in class this semester. Participants give a 4–10- minute speech or creative work they previously gave—on any topic from any class. Presentations on a range of topics are encouraged—from neuroscience to poetry to fast fashion!

Four finalists will receive monetary prizes thanks to the generosity of the Maurer Family Foundation. Expert judges will award 1st place ($300), 2nd place ($200), and first-year speaker ($100). Those in attendance will vote for an Audience Choice Winner ($100).
