You are invited to compete in the annual Public Speaking Contest for the chance to win up to $300!

All current students are eligible to participate by delivering a 4-10 minute speech. You don't have to write a brand new speech; you can use one you gave in class! If you don't have a speech ready, feel free to create one. The WORD Studio is a great resource for speech preparation and practice.

We welcome a variety of topics. Past winning speeches have covered topics such as friendship, environmentalism, neuroscience, homesickness, and love.

The contest will happen in two phases. First, faculty will judge the Preliminary Rounds on Thursday, November 12 at 11:30 am (common time). A select group (usually between 5-7) will move on to the finals. The Final Round will be held on Monday, November 16 at 8:00 pm. Prizes will be given to winners!

There will be four monetary prizes: First Prize ($300), Second Prize ($200), Audience Choice ($100), and First-Year Speaker ($100).
