About Us

St. Lawrence University Emergency Medical Services (SLU EMS) is a student-run and New York State certified EMS agency. We provide Basic Life Support (BLS) First Response services to the St. Lawrence University campus and surrounding area. An affiliate of the St. Lawrence University Safety and Security Department, SLU EMS is composed of 31 members all of whom are undergraduate students at St. Lawrence. In addition to providing coverage to the campus 24-hours a day during the academic year, SLU EMS also provides standby services at campus events such as Fall Fest, Winter Carnival, Halloweekend, and the Leithead COVID-19 Vaccine clinic. SLU EMS sponsors as many as 10 students a year who wish to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), allowing them to take the rigorous EMT-B certification course for free.
